About the Facilities

The green 400m eight lane track has a Herculan surface and meets English Athletics standards. Built by Wycombe District Council to replace the old track at Handycross, it also boasts specifically-engineered telescopic floodlights designed to raise and lower from a central point, rising from 4.5 metres to 15 metres when fully extended. The sports the track can accommodate include steeplechase, circuits, sprint, hurdle, triple jump, hammer throw, javelin and shot put.

Using the track

During normal opening hours, the gate will often be open, in which case please feel free to drive straight into the car park. However sometimes the gate may be closed for various security reasons, in this case if you would like to gain entrance to ALFletics then please press one of the two buttons on the front gate.

Always report to Reception to sign in upon arrival.
No dogs (except service dogs) are permitted anywhere inside the building or onto the track. Well behaved dogs are allowed in the car park, on the understanding that they will remain on a lead at all times and that owners will ensure they clean up after their dog.
There is no smoking or alcohol allowed anywhere on site.

We don’t currently have any catering facilities on site, so if you are coming for a lunch-time run then please feel free to bring your own lunch with you.

Group Use

All groups, personal trainers, schools, and clubs must book to use the facilities.
For bookings, please call 033 0303 0101, option 7.
Alternatively, please email savannah.catharine@alfcharity.org

Individual Use

Individuals (over 16’s only, under 16s can only use the track when accompanied by a parent) can use the track in two different ways.
You can purchase a track membership for £80 a year, and this enables you to use the track between 6am and 9pm whenever there isn’t a booking and weather/daylight permits.

Or you can use the weekly schedule (at the top of this page) to check when we are running open access sessions, and can then pay £2 to use the track. These open access sessions will be run from 9am – 5pm whenever there is not a booking. Track etiquette applies, and these open access sessions are only available for individual use.

Under 16’s must always be supervised whilst on site, and so the times that they can use the facilities vary depending on bookings. In some cases, for example if they are coming with a parent, under 16’s can use the track during certain open access sessions. If in doubt, please either call or email to arrange when you can come and use the track.

Terms & Conditions

Please do not climb over the fence or gate anywhere around the track. This especially applies to the gate, as it is not designed to take any weight on it and trespassers have unfortunately broken it in the past. Climbing over the fence or gate, or using the facilities without signing in and paying is trespassing and will be treated as such.

Please be aware that CCTV is in constant operation, and the details and car registration of anyone found to be trespassing will be passed on to the police, as well as held for our own records so that any trespassers may make recompense for their actions before using the facilities in the future.
